Home Free over 50% funded!

Hello friends,

Just wanted to stop by and talk a bit more about the Kickstarter campaign for issue #2 of Home Free. We are just over 50%, but have hit the dreaded slump. Still, with 19 days left, I believe this campaign will be a success and I hope you join us on this road to funding the comic if you haven’t already.

Once we hit 63 backers, 1 more than we had on the previous campaign, everyone will receive a PDF of the graphic novel Getting Back to Normal. This comic is within the same world as Home Free & The Black Wall, but involves Raccoon, a wild man of the streets who finds a dead body and decides to try and find out who the murderer is. This comic takes you on a ride through Reno, NV that twists and turns like a classic detective story, but with a man who has a serious drug addiction and has been homeless for most of his life. Raccoon comes to powerful revelations about himself as he uncovers the mystery of the dead man who just wanted to get bak home.

Our next goal after that will probably be at 75 backers and is going to involve at least 9 free comics from other indie comic creators. Maybe 10…

I also received the first image of the enamel pins we will be seeing through the campaign and they are looking pretty nice.

If you haven’t looked at the campaign just yet, we also have a variant cover from Tobias Gebhardt who you might remember as the artist from the previous campaign’s print. His cover is another pinup style version of Emmy & Sara.

Finally, the print was created by artist Kelly Brack this time around, and he created a ultra-noir version of Emmy that I think fans of the genre will dig.

If you remember the funding goals from the previous campaign, we are doing it again! The same deal as before, all physical backers get the rewards for the first 3 goals. At 25% we unlocked a sticker, at 50% we unlocked a bookmark, at 75% we will unlock a postcard, and at 100% every backer gets thanked in the back of the book. Check out the campaign to see what they all look like.

If you backed the first time around and weren’t able to get the funding goal package because you only bought a digital tier, you have a chance to get the first funding goal package as an add-on.

Thank you for indulging me in all of this. I hope to see some of your names on the backer list so I can send out some cool comics your way. If you’re interested in finding out more about me and the campaign, you can go to the button below for an interview I did on Keeping it Geekly.

Thank you,

John Kratky
